Clarkston DECA Students Attending DECA ICDC in Atlanta, GA (Photo) - 04/20/18

Clarkston, WA - Clarkston High School DECA took 40 students to compete at the Washington State Career Development Conference March 1st – 3rd in Bellevue, WA. Nineteen of those students qualified for the International Competition in Atlanta, GA which will be held April 20th – 25th 2018.

DECA is a nation-wide vocational student organization for students enrolled in marketing-related courses. Over 3,500 DECA students competed at the state competition in Bellevue competing in a variety of events including: Chapter Team Events, Business Operations Research Events, Chapter Awards Project, and Business Role-Play Events. The 72nd Annual International Career Development Conference in will have over 22,000 competitors at this year’s competition. The following students qualified for the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, CA.

Chapter Team Events:

  • Entrepreneurship Promotion Project—“Finding Entrepreneurship”       1st  Place
    •  Alyssa Johnston, Eva Millan, John O’shaughnessy
  • Learn & Earn Project—“Suit Yourself” Tux Project                                        6th Place
    •  Allie Jones, Mia Moore and Rachel Lauzon

Entrepreneurship Events:

  • Startup Business Plan—“The Sub Shop ”                                                    3rd  Place
    •  Nicholas Noland, Owen Boreson, Michael St. Marie
