Single-Engine Airplane Crashes Into Yale Lake - 07/22/26

On July 22, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies, including members of the Marine Patrol Unit, and North County EMS responded to reports of a single-engine airplane crash into Yale Lake in northeastern Clark County.

 

Preliminary information indicates the aircraft, a small single-engine airplane, was piloted by a 76-year-old man and had no other occupants. The pilot reported experiencing a mechanical failure before the aircraft crashed into the lake.

 

The pilot was able to exit the aircraft before it sank. Local boaters rescued the pilot shortly after the crash. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

 

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified. The incident remains under investigation.
