Fatal Crash Reported On L?1500 Road In Yacolt Burn State Forest (Photo) - 07/17/26

On 07/17/2026 at 1416 hours, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Police, Sheriff’s Deputies, and personnel from Clark County Fire District 3 were dispatched to a single‑vehicle rollover collision on the L‑1500 Road east of the L‑1510 Road within the Yacolt Burn State Forest, an area managed by DNR.

 

Responding units located a deceased adult male near a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. DNR Police requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit, which responded to conduct the investigation.

 

Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle was traveling westbound on the L‑1500 Road when it left the gravel roadway, struck a stump, and rolled down an embankment. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

 

The Sheriff’s Office offers its sincerest condolences to the family of the deceased. No further information will be released at this time. A photograph of the vehicle recovery is attached.
