Clark County Female In Custody Jumps Out Of Moving Patrol Vehicle.

On 03/29/21 at approx. 1208 hours, A deputy from the Clark County sheriff’s office was transporting a female in custody to jail in a marked patrol vehcile for assault IV domestic violence and interfering with a 911 call. During the transport to jail, the female was able to undue her seatbelt and exit the rear passenger side window while the vehicle was traveling at freeway speeds. The female sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Due to the seriousness of the injury and the deputy being on duty, the Southwest Regional Independent Investigation Team will be conducting the investigation. Washington State Patrol (WSP) is the lead investigative agency.
The deputy involved was placed on critical incident leave.
