Driver Arrested in Injury Collision - 01/05/19

Clark County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and emergency responders with Clark County Fire District 3 and American Medical Response were dispatched at 1:58 a.m. to the 24400 block of Northeast Rawson Road for reports of a multi vehicle collision.

A bystander called 911 and reported that a head-on collision occurred around a corner near NE Hinness Road.

The initial investigation indicates that the causing vehicle, a 1998 Chevrolet K1500,was travelling west and drove off the north side of the roadway, then came back across the centerline into oncoming traffic, striking a 1998 Nissan Sentra, causing serious injuries to the driver of the Sentra and injuring the two passengers inside. The Chevrolet rolled onto its passenger side and was then struck by a 1999 Ford F250 also travelling west on Northeast Rawson Road. The passengers of the Chevrolet and all occupants of the Nissan, six in total, were transported via ambulance.

Alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor in the collision.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Tyler A. Campbell (5/10/1995), of Vancouver, was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of Vehicular Assault.

The exact cause of the crash is being investigated by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit.
