News Release
Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Vancouver Man - 09/18/18

On 9/17/2018 at approximately 2051 hours, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Eric Swenson attempted to stop an orange colored Nissan 350Z near the 10500 block of NE 63rd Street.  The vehicle failed to respond to activated emergency lights and siren and fled the area.   Deputy Swenson initiated a pursuit of the vehicle after it appeared that the driver of the vehicle attempted to ram another deputy’s vehicle that was arriving in the area.

The driver went west bound on NE 63rd Street to Andresen Road where the vehicle turned south.   The pursuit continued to the area near NE Vancouver Mall Drive and NE 72nd Avenue. At some point the vehicle being pursued had turned off its headlights, was reaching speeds of 70 MPH, and disregarding all traffic control.  At this point the pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns for deputies and citizens.

After terminating the pursuit Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Agar noticed the vehicle on NE 72nd Avenue north of Vancouver Mall Drive.   Deputy Agar indicated that the vehicle was stopped on the side of the road and it appeared that the driver and passenger fled the area on foot.

Danisha Perez, a 26 year old Vancouver resident was taken into custody shortly after fleeing the vehicle.  The driver, later identified as Oliver San Nicolas, a 25 year old Vancouver resident, was taken into custody after being located by Vancouver Police K-9 Officer Corporal Ryan Starbuck and his K-9 partner Ivar.  Also assisting in the capture was the Portland Police Bureau Air Support Unit.

San Nicolas was later booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of Attempted Assault I, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Attempt to Elude, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm.  Charges of Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver are being referred to the Clark County Prosecutors Office on both Perez and San Nicolas.
