News Release
Assault/ Robbery in Clark County - 06/09/18

On Friday, June 9th at approximately 16:00 hours, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to 6704 NW 192nd Street to assist with a vehicle fire in the driveway of the residence.  Fire was also found in the two garages.  Upon further investigation the homeowner was discovered with multiple injuries and possible stab wounds.

The investigation so far has revealed the homeowner was assaulted in his garage by two white male suspects.  After the assault the suspects burglarized the home taking money and guns. The suspects then started fires in the garage and to the vehicle in the driveway they had driven to the residence. The suspects then stole the homeowner’s SUV and left.

A short while later the SUV was recovered in the 9900 block of NE 58th Street in Vancouver.

The homeowner was transported by Life Flight to Peace Health Hospital in Vancouver and is in stable condition. This appears to be a targeted crime. There is no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the neighborhood.

This investigation is being conducted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.

No names are being released at this time.

There is nothing further that will be released regarding this incident tonight. Updates will be provided as they become available.

Prepared by Sergeant Scott Schanaker
