On 5/2/2018 at 7:13pm, Fire, EMS and CCSO Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of NE 72nd Avenue and NE 159th Street, for the report of a collision involving a truck and motorcycle. The 911 caller reported that the collision resulted in a fire, involving the motorcycle.
Scene evidence and witness statements revealed that a southbound motorcyclist traveling at high speed collided with an eastbound pickup, when the pickup pulled into the path of the motorcycle. Witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling well in excess of the posted 50 mph speed just prior to the collision, and had passed at least one southbound vehicle just before crashing. The driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision is being investigated by the CCSO Traffic Unit. No charges have been filed in this incident, and all proximate causes of this collsion are being investigated.

Motorcycle: 2007 Kawasaki ZX600 Driver: GENSITSKIY, Vadim S. Age, 20. Battle Ground Resident
Vehicle: 2013 Toyota Tundra 4D Pickup. Driver: SPENCER, James A. Age 62. Battle Ground Resident
