On 3/16/2018 at 9:34pm EMS and CCSO deputies responded to the 8200 block of NE Hwy 99 for a report of a person hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, personnel administered first aid at the scene and transported a female adult to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Scene evidence and statements by involved parties revealed that the female was crossing Highway 99 when she was struck in the southbound lane by a full size pickup. The pedestrian was approximately 200 feet away from of a marked crosswalk at the time she was struck. The driver of the pickup remained on-scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The female succumbed to her injuries and later died at the hospital. The CCSO Traffic Unit is investigating this collision, no charges have been filed at this time.
The deceased female's identity will not be released pending notification of relatives. The driver of the pickup is identified as Jeffrey Donaca, age 43, of Vancouver.
