A Virtual Night at the Museum: Peek Behind the Scenes of the Clark County Historical Museum - 04/06/21

Vancouver, WA – Clark County Historical Museum will broadcast a special behind the scenes tour of their collection and operations with “A Virtual Night at the Museum” presented by the Geisler Family. This special, one-time only tour and fundraising event will stream live on YouTube at 7 p.m. on May 6, 2021.

Have you ever wanted to explore the unseen and restricted areas of a museum? Search through history-lined shelves for the unique and, at times, strange remnants of our past? Found a desire to peek behind the curtain into the spaces where only a few can go? If so, join the Clark County Historical Museum for a private, behind the scenes tour of the museum. A Virtual Night at the Museum fundraising event will provide a glimpse into the secrets of exhibit creation, let you explore the areas of our collection not normally accessible to the public, and give you a private viewing of famous, rarely seen, or bizarre items from the collection.

“When I started work at the museum over 10 years ago, I didn’t have even the slightest idea of how much stuff is in the museum’s collection.” says Brad Richardson, Executive Director. “From pieces of history related to our national story to a wealth of rare and odd items, like a collection of very creepy dolls, the museum cares for so much more than what we see in exhibits. I’ve had the privilege to see and learn so much.  I’m overjoyed that we can open up our collection for this one-time, special fundraising event and give our community a look behind the scenes.”

As part of the program, our virtual tour goers will have the opportunity bid on exclusive museum and history related experiences via an online auction and invest in our work during a special appeal segment. All funds raised will help support our work to gather, save, and share the pieces and stories of Clark County.

In addition to this amazing look behind the scenes, our virtual tour goer will receive a tasty treat courtesy of our Midnight Snack sponsor the Chandelier Bakery (5206 NE 78th St, Vancouver, WA 98665).

This event is only possible thanks to our generous presenting sponsor the Geisler Family and additional sponsors Triad Technology Group, Applied Archaeological Research, Inc, Chandelier Bakery, Kiggins Theatre, and Sharon Wylie and Ted Gathe. Tickets for the at home stream of our virtual fundraising event are $25 for non-members and $10 for CCHM members. Tickets for an exclusive Kiggins Theatre screening are $40 for non-members and $20 for members. A private link for the at home stream option will be sent to ticket holders prior to the show. Tickets may be purchased online at
