At 1:37 this morning, firefighters were dispatched to multiple reports of a house on fire on Beverly Drive, in Oregon City. First arriving crews reported a single level house with heavy fire and black smoke coming from several windows. Firefighters quickly went to work to deploy hose lines to extinguish the fire and began searching the building for any occupants. Just minutes into searching, a single occupant was located and removed from the house. Immediately, firefighter paramedics began providing medical care but sadly, despite every life saving effort, the individual died at the scene. No other occupants were in the home at the time of the fire.
Fire investigators along with Oregon City Police will be performing an investigation to determine what caused this fire to occur. No additional injuries have been reported. In total, 22 firefighters responded to this scene to bring the fire under control.
