Fire Damages Hale's Restaurant in Milwaukie (Photo) - 03/13/18

At 0227 hrs. this morning a Clackamas County Sheriffs deputy reported smoke coming from the roof of Hales restaurant located a 17305 McLoughlin Blvd. As Clackamas Fire District 1 apparatus were responding the deputy updated them that the fire was coming from the roof at the rear of the building and fire could be seen inside. First arriving crews forced open the back door and advanced and had smoke and fire conditions. A hose line was taken in to start fighting the fire as the truck company made its way to the roof to ventilate the structure and control the attic fire. Other arriving crews searched the structure while other companies were pulling ceiling so the fire in the attic could be brought under control. The fire was brought under control at 0259 hrs. No injuries were reported and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen are while the dinning area only received smoke damage. Clackamas Fire Investigator's are on scene to determine a cause and have narrowed it down to a storage room in the kitchen.

Hales restaurant open up in Hillsboro in 1971 and the Milwaukie restaurant opened in 1993.

Dispatch did get information of a fire alarm at the location also so as a business remember to keep your fire alarm system working.
