UPDATE: News Release: Woodburn Police request assistance locating missing elderly man (PERSON HAS BEEN FOUND) - 02/08/19

UPDATE: Mr. Salsby has been located. Missing person notice has been canceled.

Woodburn, OR -The Woodburn Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to locate a missing elderly male.

Byron Kent Salsby was last seen this morning, February 8, 2019 by his son who left for work at 7:30AM.  When his son returned from work at approximately 5:45PM his father was no longer at the home, nor was his father's silver 1987 Ford Thunderbird. His father's credit card was last used at approximately 1:44PM in the 1000 block of Arney Road in Woodburn.

Byron Salsby resides in the 100 block of Arney Road in the City of Woodburn.  Members of the Woodburn Police Department conducted a search of the neighborhood and areas frequented in the city but could not locate Salsby or his vehicle.  

Salsby is described as 74 years old, white male, 5’08”, 200 lbs., gray hair, blue eyes, full gray beard and a medium build.  Salsby was last seen wearing a blue jacket with sheepskin inside and a black Army baseball hat.  (See photo)

Salsby’s son told officers he gets confused easily, should not be driving at night, has early onset dementia and diabetes that requires medication.  He has only lived in the area since November, and is originally from Spokane, WA.  

His vehicle is described as a Silver, 1987 Ford Thunderbird with Washington Plate 227-XNQ,  missing unknown number of hub caps and a ball on the antenna. (Similar vehicle in photo)
