Community Invited To Tigard's Summer Events -06/05/25

The Tigard community is invited to a wide range of fun and family-friendly events throughout the summer, which are free and open to all!

A complete list of upcoming events can be found at www.tigard-or.gov/calendar. You can also download the Summer Events calendar, which is available in English and Spanish!

Among the many highlights this summer are:

  • Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration, in partnership with Tigard-Tualatin School District
Cook Family Park, Saturday, June 14, 3-6pm www.tigard-or.gov/juneteenth

Celebrate Black freedom! Meet before the event at 2pm for the W(h)ealthy Walk, a networking stroll around the park. Stage emcee is Tra'Renee, an Emmy and Telly Award-Winning Television and Radio Personality. Enjoy a meal from It's a Vibe Catering, see performers including King Benzo and Eric D. Franklin, and more at this joyful, casual event.

  • Pride Parade & Festival, in partnership with Tigard-Tualatin School District
SW 113th Ave. & Durham Rd. (Parade); Tigard HS (Festival), Saturday, June 28, 2-4:30pm www.tigard-or.gov/pridefestival

Walk, drive, or roll in the parade—or cheer from the sidelines! End at Tigard High School for the festival. Entertainment includes Rachel Wong (Willamette Week 2025 Best New Band), Ella X (electro-pop favorite), Stomptown (LGBTQ+ Country Dance), and Rose City Rollers Skatemobile. Plus, nearly 40 food, craft, and organizational vendors!

Tigard’s second-annual Drone Show will light up the sky with the theme “Tigard Through the Decades.” Entertainment includes Dragon Theater—featuring face painting, balloon artists, and special guest characters – plus a live DJ, old-fashioned kids’ games, a dance contest, and more. Viewing is from inside Cook Family Park. Bring a lawn chair, grab some food from local trucks and vendors, and relax as you count down to the drone show at 10pm!

Community-Wide Survey Open To Tigard Residents Through June 10th -05/28/25

The City of Tigard is asking residents to share their thoughts in a community-wide survey, to get input on government services and measure the quality of life throughout the community.

The survey is available at polco.us/tigard2025op, and is open now through June 10th for all residents who are at least 18 years old.

The City will use this data to help prioritize city services and initiatives, evaluate progress and measure impact moving forward. While nearly 3,000 randomly selected residents have already been asked to take the survey, the City is now offering an extended "open participation" phase to capture more feedback from the broader community.

“We strongly encourage all residents to take the time to complete the survey. The more people who participate, the better data we have, and the better positioned we will be to deliver on your priorities,” said Interim City Manager Emily Tritsch. “This is an opportunity to share your thoughts, identify opportunities for progress in Tigard, and shape our future, together.”

The National Community Survey was developed by National Research Center at Polco. The survey gauges opinions on the economy, mobility, community design, utilities, safety, natural environment, inclusivity, engagement, and other elements of Tigard's overall livability. The results will show Tigard’s strengths, areas for improvement, and what matters most to residents. The City will also be able to see how its performance compares to other communities across the country. Responses are anonymous, and personal information is securely stored by Polco.

On average, this survey is conducted every two years. To learn more and view the results from the 2023 National Community Survey in Tigard, please visit https://www.tigard-or.gov/explore-tigard/community-survey.
