  • Boot Scoot & Brew supports Center 50+ efforts to enrich and meet the needs and interest of our senior population

Salem, Ore. – Pull on your dancing boots and scoot over to Riverfront Park on Friday, September 6, for rollicking good time at the Center 50+ Boot Scoot & Brew

“It’s super important to us that the community understands that this is a community event,” said Marilyn Daily, Director of Center 50+. “Everyone is invited to this end-of-summer bash. Join in the fun and show your support of Center 50+ and aging in our community.”

Gates open at 3:30 p.m. and music starts at 4 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 at https://www.friendsofcenter50plus.com or $15 at the door. Overflow parking and shuttles from Center 50+ (2615 Portland Road) depart on the hour (last shuttle at 8 p.m.) and return from Riverfront Park on the half-hour (last returning shuttle at 9:30 p.m.).

This is the first year that the annual Friends of Center 50+ fundraiser is happening at the Gerry Frank | Salem Rotary Amphitheater. That means more room to kick up your heels in time with the music and savor local delicacies and drinks – nine different food trucks will be on hand.

Performers include:

  • 4 p.m. – Roundhouse Band
  • 6 p.m. – Jerry Kilgore
  • 7:30 p.m. – Rock ‘n’ Roll Cowboys

The Boot, Scoot & Brew offers a fun way to support Center 50+ and contribute to its ongoing success.

Center 50+ is Salem’s community center for older adults, where the wisdom of the past meets the possibilities of tomorrow. It offers a diverse array of enriching programs and services tailored to the unique needs and interests of our senior population.

Center 50+ is leading the effort to make Salem an age-friendly community by raising awareness and advocating for the important issues facing the aging population in our community and beyond, including:

  • Combatting isolation and loneliness
  • Ensuring seniors have the resources to live independently
  • Understanding ageism and creating intergenerational programming
  • Tackling the senior housing crisis
