Salem, Ore. — The City of Salem is warning drivers who use Market Street NE that the road will be closed in both directions between 12th Street NE and 14th Street NE at the Union Pacific railroad crossing beginning Monday, June 10, 2024, from 6 p.m. to Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at noon. The 18-hour closure is necessary to make railroad crossing repairs at the intersection. Traffic will be detoured in both directions as construction is taking place.
Location: Market Street NE closed to traffic between 12 Street NE and 14th Street NE, Salem, OR.
Date and Time: Monday, June 10, from 6 p.m. to Wednesday, June 11, 2024, to noon.
Affected Areas: The Market Street NE road closure will include travel lanes, sidewalks, and parking spaces near the train tracks in the construction zone.
Caution: Drivers are urged to be cautious while traveling, follow all signage, and watch for workers in the area.
This project is a continuation of planned construction work along the Union Pacific Railroad Line within the City of Salem limits. Future closures at the intersection of the Union Pacific Rail Road and D Street NE is expected in June of 2024.
