Mayor Chris Hoy Offers A New Beginning At March 22 State Of The City Address (Photo) -03/02/23
Salem, Ore. — On Wednesday, March 22, Salem Mayor Chris Hoy will make his first State of the City address since becoming mayor in November 2022.
The 2023 Salem State of the City presentation, "A New Beginning,” will be at the Salem Convention Center. Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch begins at 11:30 and the presentation starts at noon. Mayor Hoy will review the past year's progress and events and look ahead to plans for the 2023 calendar year.
“This is a pivotal year for the City of Salem,” Hoy said. “A majority of our city council members are new and are bringing new ideas and strategies to the table. I’m excited about the year to come and where it will take us.”
In his address, Mayor Hoy will speak to recent accomplishments and initiatives which will shape Council and community conversation in the coming year. Among other topics, Mayor Hoy will address housing and commercial development, public safety, sheltering programs and Salem’s response to the humanitarian crisis of homelessness.
