How will Housing and Urban Development Funds Assist Low Income, Homeless, and Persons with Special Needs in Our Community? - 04/11/19

Annual Action Plan Available for Review and Comment Beginning Apr. 19

Salem, Ore. - The City of Salem annually receives HOME Investment Partnerships and Community Development Block Grant program funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Annual Action Plan is a component of the five-year Consolidated Plan that specifically describes how the City of Salem and the Salem/Keizer Consor­tium will spend the federal resources over a one-year period for activities serving low- and moderate-income persons, the homeless, and persons with special needs.

The draft Plan will be available for public review and comment from Fri., Apr. 19 through Mon., May 20, 2019. All comments must be received no later than 5 p.m. May 20, 2019. The draft Plan will be available for review during regular business hours at:

  • City of Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE, Salem, Ore.
  • City of Salem Urban Development Department, 350 Commercial St. NE, Salem, Ore.
  • City of Keizer, Department of Community Development, 930 Chemawa Rd NE, Keizer, Ore.

Copies of the draft Plan can be provided at a reasonable cost.

The Salem City Council will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., Mon., May 28, 2019, in the Salem City Council Chambers, to receive testimony on the Annual Action Plan. The Salem City Council Rules, which include the procedures for conduct of hearings before the City Council, are available at the City of Salem Recorder, Civic Center, 555 Liberty Street SE, Room 205, Salem, Ore. 97301, 503-588-6097 and online at:
