The City of Richland is now accepting applications for its 2026 Lodging Tax Grant Program. This annual grant opportunity is designed to support events, projects, and initiatives that promote tourism and encourage overnight stays in Richland.
The program provides financial support to a variety of eligible organizations, including convention and visitors’ bureaus, destination marketing groups, nonprofit organizations (such as main street associations), lodging associations, and chambers of commerce.
Eligible projects include:
- Tourism marketing campaigns
- Special events and festivals
- Tourism-related facility operations
- Tourism-related capital projects
City officials encourage applicants to prioritize projects that:
- Increase hotel occupancy in Richland
- Strengthen tourism during the off-season
- Enhance Richland’s image as a travel destination
- Leverage additional funding opportunities
Grants are reimbursement-based and may cover up to 30 percent of the total cash expenses of a project.
Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, October 10, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Applicants should also be prepared to present their proposals to the City’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee as part of the application process.
