Each year the City of Richland receives funds from the room tax imposed upon hotels and motels located within the City. Also referred to as Lodging Tax, a portion of these funds can be retained by the City and/or be expended for use by organizations that promote tourism projects and activities established by State law (RCW 67.28.1815).
The City operates this as a grant fund. Applicants who can successfully demonstrate how their event, activity or project will result in an increase in tourism in Richland, resulting in overnight hotel lodging, will be strongly considered.
Applications will be reviewed by the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. The Committee will meet to review the applications and ultimately make a recommendation to the City Council.
The application period is open now through October 14, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.
