Experience the magic of the holidays at Richland’s annual “Winter Wonderland Festival of Lights.” The month-long festival kicks off Friday, December 6 and will include a variety of family-friendly events each weekend through December 21.
Visit Santa and his reindeer on Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, at 5:00 pm at the HAPO Community Stage in John Dam Plaza. Enjoy food vendors, holiday entertainment and more. The official lighting ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday only. Witness the official lighting of thousands of dancing lights placed throughout the park with lighted trees and holiday displays set to a soundtrack of holiday music.
Additional festivities continue that weekend, including the annual Lighted Boat Parade in Howard Amon Park. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Lee Landing Turnaround there will be food vendors and warming fires. Santa will also make his way to Lee Landing at about 7:15 p.m. Inside the Richland Community Center from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., there will be arts and crafts, holiday sing-alongs, free hot cocoa and Bingo. The lighted boats slowly cruise up the Columbia River from downtown Kennewick and arrive in Howard Amon Park at approximately 7:00 p.m. on both evenings.
The music and light show will continue in John Dam Plaza every night from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. through January 1.
