Oregon City Commissioners announce the appointment of a new Commissioner, Adam Marl, for position four to serve April 29, 2021 through December 31, 2022. This Commission position was filled through appointment by a majority vote of the City Commission due to the vacancy of newly elected Mayor Rachel Lyles Smith.

The City accepted six applications for this position open from April 8 – 26, held interviews, and voted at a special meeting on April 29 to confirm Adam Marl’s position on the City Commission. Marl will take his Oath of Office, Friday, April 30, 5:30 p.m. Watch the live-streamed meeting at the City’s YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/CityofOregonCity

Background: The City Commission is comprised of five members elected by positions, in staggered general election years, with the Mayor elected independently of the four Commissioners. In November 2022, two Commission positions, including this appointed position, will be open for election.
