What: Inside Tilt: An Evening with Emma Pattee 

Who: Hillsboro Public Library is hosting Emma Pattee, author of Tilt, for a special author talk to kickoff Hillsboro Reads 2026. This is a free event, open to the public.  

About the Book: Set in Portland, Oregon, Pattee’s powerful debut novel tells a gripping story of survival, resilience, and human connection after a massive 9.0 earthquake strikes the Pacific Northwest — an especially resonant story for our community. 
 
Tilt is longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medal of Excellence in Fiction, A New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice, and was recently named to Scientific American’s list of the Best Fiction of 2025. Tilt has captured national attention.
