First Responders Take The Ice At Winter Village (Photo) - 12/26/19

Here's a fun visual... 
It's First Responder Friday at Winter Village this Friday, December 27, from 10 am to 8 pm. Media are invited to attend! Activities include:

  • Tour the new City of Hillsboro Police Department's Mobile Command Center, 10 am – 4 pm
  • Tour a City of Hillsboro Fire & Rescue Department Fire Engine, 10 am & 1 pm
  • Skate with Hillsboro Police Officers (skating fees apply) at 2 pm & at 8 pm

About First Responder Friday:

Get to know your local firefighters and police officers. The Hillsboro Police Department’s new Mobile Command Center will be on site for tours from 10 am - 4 pm. Hillsboro Fire & Rescue firefighters will visit the rink at 10 am and 1 pm and the fire engine is open for tours, and Hillsboro Police will be out on the ice at 2 pm and 8 pm.

About Winter Village:

The area’s only open-air ice skating rink is Winter Village’s 3,000-square-foot rink at Jerry Willey Plaza at Orenco Station (943 NE Orenco Station Loop, next to the Orenco MAX Station in Hillsboro) through January 5, 2020.

Ticket sales begin 15 minutes before the start of each skating session. Purchase tickets at the time you plan to skate. There are no pre-sale or online purchases. Sessions may sell out, so it is strongly recommended to arrive on time and with more than 30 minutes left in a session. 

  • General skating sessions last 90 minutes followed by a 30-minute break for ice resurfacing and skate maintenance.
  • Limited skate sizes and Bobby skate aid rentals available. 
  • Ice rink capacity is 70 skaters at one time.
  • When you purchase a ticket for a session, you may leave the ice and return during that session. Your ticket is valid only for that session.

Admission Information

  • Age 12 and older (General) : $13
  • Ages 4 - 11: $10
  • Age 3 and under: Free
  • Family 4-Pack (Wednesdays): $40
  • Bobby skate aid rental: $5
  • Military/First Responders and family members: $1 off per person (Must show ID, cannot be combined with other offers.)
  • Bring Your Own Skates: $2 Discount
     
  • Buy a five-session punch card and save $10 off regular prices. General $55, Youth $40
  • Cash, credit, and debit cards are accepted. All sales are final — no refunds.
