Gresham Fire Department Host An Interactive Training Opportunity -05/26/22
GRESHAM, Ore. – Gresham is excited to invite the media to take part in a unique fire training event happening Friday, May 27 from 9 to 2 p.m. at the Gresham Fire Training Center, which is just north of Fire Station 74, 1520 NE 192nd Avenue, Gresham, Oregon. If you are not able to attend the full training, please reach out to Sarah.Cagann@GreshamOregon.gov for the best times to participate.
This event was originally created to give the Gresham City Council as well as City Leadership the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a firefighter.
“At a time when public safety is growing increasingly more complex as our community needs evolve, this is an invaluable opportunity for city leaders to learn first-hand how our first responders serve the community.” said Deputy City Manager Corey Falls.
Gresham Fire and Emergency Services Department will be facilitating several different hands-on experiences for participants ranging from wearing gear, using the “Jaws of Life” tool, and working a simulated cardiac arrest call to a live fire training simulation. Firefighters will be assigned to each of the various stations, teaching participants along the way.
The City of Gresham Fire and Emergency Services provides life safety services to not only the Gresham community but several surrounding communities as well. We invite the media to take part in this special event and gain insight into the life of a firefighter.
