Fairview Names The Four Finalists For Position Of City Manager (Photo) - 09/17/24

The City of Fairview, Oregon has designated four finalists for the position of City Manager: Nancy Artmann, David Benson, Nathan George, and Kent Souriyasak.


The Fairview community is invited to participate in facilitated roundtable group conversations with the finalists the evening of Monday, September 30th from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at Fairview City Hall, Council Chambers, 1300 NE Village Street, Fairview, OR 97024. Participants are asked to attend for the entire time period to be able to meet with all of the finalists. Nancy Artmann currently serves as the Finance and Business Services Division Manager with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. She previously served as Interim Executive Director and Program and Administrative Coordinator for the Oregon Racing Commission; and Grant Fund Corrdinator and Office Manager for the Oregon Department of Justice. Ms. Artmann holds a Master of Business Administration from Willamette University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from Western Oregon State College. Ms. Artmann said of her candidacy, “I am honored to be selected as a finalist for the city manager position. I look forward to connecting with the community, City staff, and Council as the process continues.”


David Benson currently serves as the Senior Managing Consultant for PFM Management and Budget Consulting. He previously served as Assistant Chief Recovery Officer for the City of Houston, Texas; Assistant City Manager and Chief of Staff to the City Manager for the City of League City, Texas; Chief Growth Officer for the KIPP Houston charter school network; and Chief of Staff for the Mayor and Director of Economic Development Corporation for the City of Pasadena, Texas. Mr. Benson holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Houston and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Yale University. Mr. Benson said this of his candidacy, “I’m excited to be a finalist for city manager in Fairview; the community’s location, civic pride, and strong partnerships offer great promise and potential. I’m looking forward to learning from the City Council, staff, and community about their challenges, opportunities, plans, and progress toward creating a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Fairview for everyone.”
 

Nathan George currently serves as the City Manager for the City of Tillamook, Oregon. He previously served as Budget Analyst for the Arizona Department of Transportation; Payroll Manager for Multnomah County; Deputy Controller and Deputy Town Manager for the City of Fishers, Indiana; and Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager for the City of Emporia, Virginia. George holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University. Mr. George said of his candidacy, "I am very excited to be chosen as a finalist for the beautiful City of Fairview City Manager position! I look forward to meeting the team of employees, City Council, and community."


Kent Souriyasak most recently served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Lucas, Texas. He previously served as the Assistant to the City Manager, and Special Projects Coordinator for the City of Lucas, Texas; and Human Resources Administrative Assistant for the City of University Park, Texas. Mr. Souriyasak holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas and Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology and Minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas. Mr. Souriyasak said this of his candidacy, "I am honored to be selected as one of the finalists and excited to take part in the interview process to be the next city manager. Fairview is filled with community spirit and I look forward to meeting with everyone during this process.
