City of Fairview Order Prohibited: Use of Consumer Fireworks Within the City of Fairview - 08/01/22

Effective August 1, 2022, use of consumer fireworks in the City of Fairview is prohibited. This prohibition will continue until the July 25, 2022 Multnomah Fire Defense Board burn ban within the City of Fairview is lifted, or until this Order is rescinded.


“Consumer fireworks” means:
(a) A cone fountain, a cylindrical fountain, a flitter sparkler, a ground spinner, an illuminating torch or a wheel, or a combination of two or more of those items; and
(b) Any other items, other than exempt fireworks, containing 500 grams or less of pyrotechnic composition that the State Fire Marshal recognizes by rule to be suitable for retail sale to members of the general public for individual use. [ORS 480.111(2)]

NOTE: Violation of this ORDER is subject to a civil penalty of up to $1,000 for each day of violation.

NOTICE: OUTDOOR BURN BAN The Multnomah Fire Defense Board has issued an outdoor burn ban effective July 25, 2022 in all areas of Multnomah County. The burn ban includes recreational campfires, fire pits, yard debris (branches, yard debris, etc.), agricultural burning (agricultural wastes, crops, field burning, etc.), and permits issued for open burning (other land clearing, slash, stump, debris, or controlled burning) until further notice.
