Battle Ground Shooting Suspect Arrested, Second Suspect Still Outstanding - 09/19/26

On September 19, 2026, at approximately 1:55 p.m., officers with the Battle Ground Police Department were dispatched to a reported disturbance in the 1700 block of NE 12th Street in Battle Ground.

 

While officers were responding, CRESA dispatch received updated information that witnesses had observed two males in a vehicle, with multiple gunshots reportedly being fired from the vehicle as it fled the area. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver Nissan sedan traveling in the direction of Battle Ground Lake State Park.

 

Several area law enforcement agencies responded to assist, including the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Vancouver Police Department, and Washington State Patrol.

 

A Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy located a silver Nissan matching the description of the suspect vehicle as it was entering Battle Ground Lake State Park, located in the 18000 block of NE 249th Street. Officers and deputies were able to detain the driver; however, the passenger fled from the vehicle on foot.

 

An extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted with assistance from K9 teams and unmanned aerial systems (drones). Despite those efforts, the second suspect was not located.

 

Officers also searched the area where the initial shooting was reported and located several spent shell casings in the roadway.  At this time, there are no reported injuries.

 

The suspected driver of the vehicle was identified as Theodore Seaman, 44. He was arrested for Drive-By Shooting and booked into the Clark County Jail. Additional charges may be considered as the investigation continues.

 

Battle Ground Police Department officers and detectives are continuing their investigation and are working to identify and locate the second suspect.

 

Anyone with information regarding this incident, including information concerning the identity or location of the second suspect, is encouraged to contact Detective Everett with the Battle Ground Police Department at (360) 831-5001. (BGPD Case #26-1476)

 

As with all criminal cases, Theodore Seaman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
