Battle Ground, WA - Battle Ground Police announce an arrest in connection with a recent six-day crime spree in and around Battle Ground that included multiple victims of car prowl, theft, and robbery. During this crime spree there were at least 17 victims, 20 vehicles prowled, and 4 vehicles stolen. Stolen debit/credit cards were used at least 8 times. Although the case is still open with more arrests possible, we can announce that Battle Ground resident Sabrina Marie Cox, age 19 was arrested and charged with the following crimes:

Felonies:

• One (1) count of Robbery 1st degree, RCW 9A.56.200
• One (1) count of Theft of a motor vehicle, RCW 9A.56.065
• One (1) count of possession of a stolen vehicle, RCW 9A.56.068
• Seven (7) counts of Theft 2nd degree, 9A.56.040

Misdemeanors:

• Twelve (12) counts of vehicle prowling in the 2nd degree, RCW 9A.52.100
• Eight (8) counts of Theft III, RCW 9A.56.050

Charges have been forwarded to the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office. Cox was booked into the Clark County Jail pending arraignment. 

The Battle Ground Police Department extends thanks to the many citizens and businesses who provided tips, video, photos, and information that led to this arrest. We also acknowledge the incredible work by Battle Ground Police Detective Neil Seifert as he worked tirelessly in partnership with community members to solve this case.  The Camas Police Department and Portland Police Bureau provided invaluable support; we thank them for their ongoing cooperation and communications.   Without community support and agency partnerships, cases like this often go unsolved.   

It is also important to note that criminals are, more often than not, opportunists. The department reminds everyone to lock cars, and remove keys and valuables from unattended vehicles.
