PORTLAND, Ore. — Members of the media are invited to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at one of the Pacific Northwest’s most cherished holiday traditions. On Friday, December 4, 2026, at 5:00 a.m., the Christmas Ships Parade fleet will gather near Salty’s on the Columbia River, offering journalists, photographers, and broadcast crews a premium vantage point to capture stunning early-morning visuals and speak directly with the people behind the magic.

This media-only event provides a rare opportunity to shoot high-quality photo and video footage of the brilliantly illuminated fleet against the still dark skies before they take to the water for their scheduled holiday runs.

  • When: Friday, December 4, 2026, at 5:00 -6:30a.m. PST
  • Where: Salty’s on the Columbia River, 3839 NE Marine Dr, Portland, OR 97211
  • What’s Provided: Hot coffee and light refreshments will be available to keep crews warm during the early morning shoot.

About the Christmas Ships Parade
The Christmas Ships Parade is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that has been lighting up the rivers of the Portland Metro area during the holiday season for decades. The fleet consists of dozens of privately owned watercraft decorated with intricate, festive light displays, bringing communities together along the shoreline each December.
