Chemeketa Community College's Popular BOLT Program ReturnsThis Summer - 05/15/23

Chemeketa Community College announces free college classes and textbooks for recent graduates and incoming seniors during the summer term

Salem, Ore., May 15, 2023 — Chemeketa Community College will be offering free college classes, including complimentary textbooks, during the upcoming summer term for recent 2023 high school graduates and incoming seniors. The returning program, called BOLT (Building Opportunities for Learning and Transition), consists of five-week intensive classes. BOLT starts on June 26, 2023 and concludes on July 29, 2023.

The class CRNs will be available on May 16, 2023 on Chemeketa Community College's website when registration opens. To take advantage of this opportunity, students are strongly encouraged to begin the process early by completing the admissions application and undergoing the placement assessment process. It is advised that students interested in participating in BOLT complete these initial steps no later than June 16, 2023. This will ensure adequate time for processing and allow students to register before the summer term starts on June 26, 2023.

"Chemeketa's BOLT program will be offered again this summer, with one free college course including free textbooks. This program is open to the graduating class of 2023 and rising seniors in our service district. Offering these courses not only helps students to get a jump start on their college and career goals, but also helps support the transitions from high school to college," says Sara Hastings, Dean of High School Partnerships at Chemeketa Community College.

The BOLT website includes more information and step-by-step instructions on how to register https://www.chemeketa.edu/programs-classes/high-school-programs/college-credit-now/. For additional information, please contact collegecreditnow@chemeketa.edu or call 503.399.5239. Please note that each class has a maximum capacity of 30 students and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Or
