Centennial School District Announces New Centennial High School Principal (Photo) - 05/17/22

The Centennial School District has announced the hiring of the new Centennial High School principal for the upcoming school year. 

Marin Miller will be the new principal of Centennial High School (CHS) beginning July 1, 2022. Marin is succeeding current Principal Mairi Scott-Aguirre who is retiring at the end of June.

With over 22 years in education with the past 15 years serving as a school administrator, Marin Miller has extensive experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels. 

Marin Miller is currently the principal of Powell Butte Elementary in Centennial School District, a position he has held for the past six years. Prior to his principalship at Powell Butte, he served as principal of Saghalie Middle School and Twin Lakes Elementary and as assistant principal of Lakota Middle School at Federal Way Public Schools in Federal Way, Washington. At the high school level, Marin completed his administrative internship and served as the Graduation Coordinator at Todd Beamer High School, also in Federal Way Public Schools. Former roles at the high school level include Distinguished Teacher (Dean/Instructional Coach); 9th-12th grade science teacher and science department head; Summer School Coordinator; and Academy Facilitator for Math, Science, Health and Fitness. He was also a 9th grade math and science teacher at the junior high level.

Marin has a Bachelor of Science in biology from Pacific Lutheran University and a master’s degree in teaching from City University. He’s received the following administrative certifications: COSA Oregon Professional License and Principal License; Washington State Professional Principal Certificate; and National Board Certification Facilitator. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in education from Concordia University Chicago.
