Canby School District Investigating Transportation Issue Involving Canby High School Band -06/02/19

Canby, Oregon - Canby School District is conducting an investigation into a transportation issue involving the Canby High School band’s planned trip to the Starlight Parade on June 1, 2019. Reports indicate that band students missed the opportunity to march in the parade because there was no transportation available.

While the investigation is just beginning, the initial finding reveals that the district’s contracted bus provider, Student Transportation of America, was not aware of the planned trip and did not receive a request to transport students to downtown Portland.

We understand how disappointed the entire CHS band community must be. The district will continue to look into the circumstances around the lack of transportation to the parade and will provide an update on the findings of the investigation when it is complete.
