The Camas School District is pleased to announce that Travis Drake has been selected as the next principal of Camas High School, beginning in the 2026–27 school year. He will succeed Kelly O’Rourke, who is stepping down at the end of the school year.
Drake brings over twenty years of experience in education, including leadership roles at both the school and district levels. He currently serves as the Director of Secondary for Battle Ground Public Schools, where he supports middle and high schools and alternative programs. His previous experience includes serving as principal at Prairie High School and Laurin and Pleasant Valley middle schools.
“Travis is a student-centered leader who understands what it takes to build strong systems while staying deeply connected to students, staff, and community,” said Superintendent John Anzalone. “He brings a clear focus on high expectations, meaningful relationships, and ensuring each and every student is supported to succeed.”
Drake shared that returning to a comprehensive high school setting is especially meaningful to him. “The opportunity to lead a school like Camas High School, with its incredible reputation and community connection, is exciting, and I can’t wait to become a part of it,” he said.
Throughout the selection process, Drake stood out for his commitment to building inclusive school communities, using data to guide decisions, and creating systems that support both academic success and student well-being.
Camas School District extends its gratitude to O’Rourke for her leadership and contributions to Camas High School and wishes her all the best in her next chapter.
