Camas PD Investigates Personal Watercraft Collision On Lacamas Lake-1 Deceased (Photo) - 08/09/24

A woman died after a collision between two personal watercrafts on Lacamas Lake.

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at about 7:11 p.m., a medical call was reported from Lacamas Lake where lifesaving efforts were being performed on a woman who had been pulled from the water following a collision between two personal watercrafts. Camas-Washougal Fire Department and Camas Police Department personnel responded. 

Preliminary information indicates two personal watercrafts were being operated by individuals who were known to each other. They collided and a woman and 10-year-old child landed in the water. They were both wearing personal flotation devices. A boater in the proximity was able to pull the woman and child from the water and lifesaving efforts were performed on the woman. The child and other watercraft operator were not injured. The other operator remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The woman was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She was identified as 48-year-old Angela Narciso, of Vancouver. 

The Camas Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident and asks any witnesses who have not already contacted police to contact Sergeant Stefan Hausinger at (360) 817-1503 or Stefan.hausinger@cityofcamas.us The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit is assisting with the investigation.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of this deadly outcome from what should have been a fun summer day on our beautiful lake,” said Chief Tina Jones. “Condolences to the family and friends impacted by this loss. We have heard of several water-related fatal incidents this summer in the region, and it is a sober reminder for everyone to take precautions. Please operate vessels safely, wear personal flotation devices, take a boater safety class, have all the required safety equipment, be aware of others in the water, and get up to date on CPR. We appreciate the technical support from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Unit as we navigate this investigation.”
