Attempted Murder Suspect In Custody -03/03/18
Camas Police Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at 1:54am this morning at 2013 NE Garfield St. The 911 caller, identified as 30-year-old Emily Javier, reported that she had just stabbed her boyfriend with a sword and thought he was dead. Upon police arrival, Javier was walking out of the residence and into the front yard with her hands up, surrendering. She was placed into custody without incident. Javier's boyfriend of two years, 29-year-old Alex Lovell, was found inside their joint residence, with several life-threatening injuries. Lovell was treated and transported to the hospital by Camas-Washougal Fire Department. Lovell is currently in critical condition. Detectives served a search warrant at the scene and a samurai sword and additional knives were seized. Javier was booked at Clark County Jail for Attempted Murder First Degree. Police believe Javier's attack was motivated by jealousy. The investigation is on-going with the assistance of the Regional Major Crimes Team. No further details will be released at this time. ###
