Twain Elementary School in The Colorado Springs School District 11 was presented with a generous $5,000 donation today at the grand opening of Burlington’s new store at Citadel Crossing. This donation, made possible through Burlington’s partnership with the national non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org, will directly support teachers and students by providing essential classroom supplies. The grand opening saw a long line of community members waiting for special deals.
Twain Elementary Principal Boudreaux, along with staff, students, and families, attended the event to graciously receive the donation. The ceremony was also attended by Board of Education Directors Julie Ott and Sandra Bankes, and Area Superintendent Sarah Scott. Burlington's dedication to community support was highlighted in its ongoing efforts to provide local schools with much-needed resources.
Principal Boudreaux expressed heartfelt thanks, stating, “We are incredibly grateful to Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for this meaningful donation. This will make a significant impact on our classrooms, ensuring that our teachers have the tools they need to help our students thrive.”
A special thank you goes out to Twain Elementary’s community, including the principal, staff, students, and families who participated in this event. Their presence helped mark this occasion as a memorable milestone for the school.
Burlington’s commitment to supporting local schools with every new store opening reinforces its mission to empower students and educators. This $5,000 donation will directly benefit Twain Elementary's classrooms, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have throughout the school year.
