On Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 9:00 AM, Swigert Middle School will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil its brand-new, modernized bathrooms. These updates are part of The Colorado Springs School District 11’s ongoing efforts to improve school facilities through the Certificate of Participation (COP) and ESSR funding initiatives, aimed at enhancing the overall quality of learning environments for students across the district. 

The bathroom renovations are a key investment in creating updated, comfortable, and student-centered spaces. The district believes that improved facilities contribute to a better educational experience, allowing students to focus on their learning and well-being.

The renovations at Swigert Middle School were completed in collaboration with Nunn Construction, a local education-focused builder with over 30 years of partnership with D11. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Nunn Construction has long been dedicated to improving schools throughout the district, ensuring that investments directly benefit students and teachers.

D11 Superintendent Dr. Michael Gaal and representatives from Nunn Construction will be present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate this important milestone in D11’s ongoing commitment to excellence in education.

These bathroom upgrades are part of a district-wide renovation project aimed at enhancing middle schools across D11. By prioritizing facility improvements, the district is reinforcing its mission to provide “excellence in every experience, for every student.”
