Media Alert: Palmer Students Showcase Virtual Reality Projects - 05/14/19

On Thursday, May 16, 7:45-10 a.m., students at Palmer High School, 301 N. Nevada Ave., will be demonstrating the projects they have been working on all year. The media is invited to attend this event. Please check in with the front office upon arrival.

These students have been working with university partners across the country, the US commonwealth of Saipan, and local business and industry partners on multiple projects including:

  • A Virtual WWII Museum highlighting the battles around Saipan
  • An augmented environment for the CS Business Journal’s annual magazine
  • An emerging project with the UCCS History Department

In addition, Nikki Lester from zSpace will be demonstrating one of the newest and most accessible virtual learning platforms in the k-12 curricular space. Students in Career and Technical Education are exploring the emerging technology for the promise it has to augment learning in engineering, manufacturing, biomedical science, culinary, automotive, and many more areas.

7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Guided Tour of Virtual Spaces created by Sean Wybrant’s students

8:30 a.m. – 8:55 a.m. Demonstration by zSpace instructor Nikki Lester

9:00 a.m. – 10 a.m. Open tours of virtual spaces created by Palmer students and open demonstration of zSpace platform.
