Disaster Preparedness - Learn How To Map Your Neighborhood -05/03/18
Vancouver, WA – Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA) in partnership with Clark County and the City of Vancouver Office of Neighborhoods will hold an Open House Event on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from10 a.m. – 3 p.m. to teach residents about the Map Your Neighborhood program. The event will take place at Clark College Gaiser Student Union, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver.
The open house is free and open to the public.
Map Your Neighborhood is a neighborhood driven program designed to improve disaster preparation and readiness at the neighborhood level. Participants will learn steps and actions that can minimize damage and protect lives by teaching neighbors to rely on each other during the hours or days fire, medical, police or utility responders arrive.
Participants will learn:
- The first 9 steps to take immediately following a Disaster
- Hoe to Create a Skills and Equipment Inventory
- How to Create a Neighborhood Map
- How to Create a Neighborhood Contact List
- How to work together as a Team
This is a free event and no pre-registration is required. Bring the whole family; there will be activities available for the kids to do while parents learn more about the program.
