During their Regular School Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the College Place Public Schools Board of Directors appointed Joshua Williams to serve as the interim representative for Director Area #3. Williams will fill the vacancy created following the resignation of longtime board member Todd Stubblefield.

In accordance with board policy and state law, the vacant position was publicly posted and opened for all eligible residents living within Director Area #3 to apply. The Board conducted a public interview process as part of the district’s board appointment timeline before deliberating and making the appointment during the evening meeting.

Williams is a lifelong Walla Walla County resident who has lived in College Place for the past 18 years with his wife and four children, three of whom currently attend College Place Public Schools. Professionally, Williams serves as a West Region Area Manager for Nutrien Ag Solutions. He also has a long history of volunteer service with Walla Walla County Fire District 4, where he has served since 2010.

In his letter of interest and interview with the Board, Williams spoke about his commitment to students, families, and educators and his desire to support strong academic standards while ensuring students feel safe, supported, and included. He also emphasized the importance of listening carefully, asking informed questions, and collaborating respectfully with stakeholders across the community.

“I am honored to be accepted as a member of the College Place School Board,” said Williams. “I look forward to serving our students, supporting our educators, and working together with our community to help every child succeed.”

Superintendent Jim Fry shared appreciation for Williams’ willingness to serve and the perspective he brings to the district.

“I appreciated Josh’s attitude of service to the community and our children as his reason for applying,” said Fry. “To have children in each of our schools next year will give him a perspective that will prove very valuable to our board.”

Williams will serve in the interim position until the regular November 2027 election determines the holder of the seat for the remainder of the term.
