College Place Public Schools to Host Third Food Drive to Fill Eden’s Pantry

College Place,  WA, Friday November 5, 2020: College Place Public Schools will again host a food drive to support families in need in College Place. In partnership with Eden’s Pantry, which is located on the campus at Walla Walla University, the district is looking to serve the community by filling the shelves at the pantry to support those in need during the holiday season.

“As we saw during our last three community drives, there is a great need in our community and there are also so many who want to give.  Our district is here to serve our community and give back.  Our community members contribute to our success and we want to make sure we do to theirs,” stated Jim Fry, Superintendent College Place Public Schools.

CPPS and community volunteers will be dropping off donation bags at homes between Tuesday, November 9th and Thursday, November 11th.

Community members are asked to fill the bags with non-perishable items and volunteers will be back out on Sunday, November 14th to pick up food donations left on front porches of homes in College Place beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon.  The District asks that the bags are ready at noon in a visible location.

There will also be two drop off sites Andy’s Market and Wal-Mart in College Place where people can donate on Sunday, November 14 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. For those wishing to make a charitable donation, they can do so by visiting www.CPPS.org

High priority items include canned chili, canned soups, canned fruits, canned vegetables, dry cereal, pasta, nuts, nut butters, canned meats, canned sauces, pancake and waffle mixes.

On Wednesday, November 17th, Eden’s Pantry (212 SW 4th St. College Place) will be open from 9:00 am -3:00 pm for anyone and everyone to pick up a CPPS Cares Package. These “care packages” will be filled with healthy food options for individuals and families.
