News Release

Structure Fire InDixonville - 10/08/25

At approximately 1040 am on 10/07/2025, Central Douglas Fire and Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 1000 block of Buckhorn Road. Upon arrival, crews found a single-story home with fire coming out of several windows and smoke coming from all the eaves.

The first engines initiated an offensive attack and conducted a primary search of the home. The occupants were not at home when the fire started. One pet kitten was saved from the fire.

The fire appeared to have started from a heat lamp that was used for warming baby chickens.

Central Douglas Fire and Rescue responded with three fire Engines, one water tender, and one command vehicle. CDFR received assistance from Roseburg Fire Department, Glide Fire Department, DFPA, Umpqua Valley ambulance, Avista, and Pacific Power.
