Re: Core Botanica Storage Fire
On December 23, 2025, at approximately 1915 hours, Crook County Fire and Rescue was dispatched for a fire at Core Botanica, on NW Lone Pine Road, in Crook County. Initial reports were that a large fire was burning in a mint storage building at the facility. Arriving crews discovered an approximately 36,000 square foot storage building fully involved. It was determined the building was currently storing millions of pounds of shredded mint leaf, awaiting processing at the facility.
Crews set up defensive operations to protect other buildings on site. No other buildings were damaged.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental, the result of the spontaneous combustion of wet mint, located inside one of the large storage bins. Due to the large quantities of stored mint, the scene will continue to smoke for several days.
No injuries, and Crook County Fire and Rescue was assisted on scene by Redmond Fire and Rescue, and the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.
