House Fire (Photo) -03/04/22

Media Information Release

Type of incident: Structure Fire

Location of incident:  NW 7th Street, Prineville, OR

Incident date:  3/3/2022                      Alarm Time:  14:27

Description of occupancy:  Small one-story house with a basement

Owner, occupant:  House was occupied at the time of the fire (Two adults and two juveniles).  Occupants smelled smoke and then were alerted by the home's fire alarms.  All occupants were able to exit safely.

Circumstances found on arrival; actions taken:  Arrived to find a fire in the basement extending up a wall into the kitchen on the first floor. Crews deployed hose lines to the interior and extinguished the fire then began checking for extension.   

Injuries, rescues, other information of interest:  No injuries or rescues. All occupants were reported out upon arrival. The occupants were assisted by the American Red Cross.

Responding Apparatus:  Two engines, one medic, and two command vehicles

Responding Personnel:  11

Mutual Aid assistance by:  CCFR was assisted on the scene by Prineville PD, Prineville Public Works, and Pacific power.

Probable fire cause:  Cause of the fire was accidental, result of an unattended candle in the basement.
