Type of incident: Structure Fire

Address of incident:  NE 7th Street, Prineville, Oregon

Incident date:  9/12/2021                    Alarm Time: 1252 hours

Description of occupancy:  Single family home

Owner, occupant:  The home was occupied at the time of the fire.  A passerby noticed the smoke and called 911 and alerted the occupants.  Three adults, two children, and two dogs were displaced.  Red Cross was called to assist.

Circumstances found on arrival; actions taken:  Crews arrived on scene to find a small two story home with a working fire on the back porch that was extending into the attic.  Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and keep the majority of the damage to the exterior of the home.  The damage to the interior of the home was mostly smoke damage.

Injuries, rescues, other information of interest:  None.

Responding Apparatus:  Two engines, a medic, and several command vehicles.

Responding Personnel:  12 Firefighters

Mutual Aid assistance by:  CCFR was assisted on scene by the Prineville Police Department, Crook County Sheriff’s Office, City of Prineville Public Works and Pacific Power. 

Probable fire cause:  The cause of the fire is undetermined.
