One person is dead and another seriously injured in a morning van fire in Hazel Dell, Washington.

Firefighters from Clark County Fire District 6 were called to the blaze shortly before 8:30 this morning. When they arrived they witnessed an older van parked on 8^th avenue—fully involved by fire. District 6 Firefighters quickly doused the van and discovered there was a dead individual inside. An injured man who reportedly escaped the fire was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious burns.

The Clark County Medical Examiner and Fire Marshal have been called to the scene and are investigating the cause of the fire. 8^th avenue between 82^nd and 86^th streets will be closed to traffic as the investigation continues.
