Clark County Fire District 6 Leads Districts Statewide in Levy Vote (Photo) - 08/04/22

We always suspected that we have a very supportive community in Clark County Fire District 6. And judging from the election results for our recent EMS levy—we can honestly say we have the most supportive citizens in the entire state of Washington.

That’s because our approval percentage of 78.86% is the highest of any fire District in the entire state.

“I can honestly say that we are humbled by the vote,” says District 6 Fire Chief Kristan Maurer. “You don’t get a grade in the fire service, so I would say these numbers represent an A+”, she says.

Why was passage of the EMS Levy so important? Besides the fact that it represents one quarter of our budget, passage of the EMS Levy also affords us to purchase the latest technology used for saving lives. One example is the LUCAS Device, an artificial CPR machine that will soon be on every District 6 response unit. The device is proven to create better outcomes for patients.

Of course, money doesn’t buy community support. Our crews are trained to treat every call with professionalism, compassion, and respect. We believe the people at CCFD6 that serve the community everyday are main reason for such strong support.
