Cats saved at house fire - 04/07/21

Clark County Fire District 6 Firefighters were successful in saving a cat and several kittens today after a house fire in Felida. The fire started at 4:15 this afternoon on NW 34th Avenue. Initial reports say that the homeowner was home and suddenly noticed that there a fire on the second floor of the two story home. The homeowner quickly left the house and called 9-1-1. CCFD crews arrived n four engines and were assisted by a truck from Vancouver Fire. The fire was found and knocked down in 12 minutes, after which crews found two cats and a litter of kittens. They started cpr and were able to save one of the cats and a unspecified number of kittens. They weren't able to save all of the cats. The Red Cross was called and was pulling together lodging for two adults and several felines. The cause and damage estimate is being estimated by the Fire Marshall's office.
