Battle Ground Shop Fire (Photo) - 02/08/19

Fire District 3 responded to a shop fire in the area of 23100 NE 182 Ave, Battle Ground on February 7, 2019, at 19:10. Four engines, one tender and command staff responded for a total of twelve personnel.

Crews arrived at 19:16 to find a 30’x40’ shop fully involved in fire. Crews used two hydrants to supply hose lines and a high volume deck gun to extinguish the majority of the fire. An excavator was used to assist in the mop-up of the structurally damaged building. Clark County Sheriff's Office and Clark County Public Works assisted.

While fighting the fire several vehicles ran over hydrant supply lines, cutting it, creating a safety hazard for firefighters losing water pressure, and a traffic hazard due to ice on the roadway. Nearly $1500 in fire hose was lost. Fire hose is not designed to be driven over. Fire District 3 requests drivers please use caution, turn around and find another route.
